healthy skin5 Tips For healthy skin

It is never too late to start taking care of your skin whether you are young or old, your complexion will always reap the benefits! You may not always have the time to stick to a rigid intensive regime but with these tips you cannot only have healthy skin but maintain younger looking skin for longer!

Healthy Skin: Avoid too much .

Nothing will age you faster and damage skin, than the sun’s harmful rays. Not only can it cause skin cancers but it can cause premature ageing, wrinkles before your time, freckles, dry skin and age spots. You should always cover up your face as much as you can when out in full sun for any length of time and try to avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm; the sun’s rays are at their most intense between these times.

Wear a hat and sensible clothing that covers you as well as keeps you cool. And don’t skimp on the sunscreen! Use generous amounts of sunscreen half an hour before sun exposure and re-apply every two hours, more often if you’ve been swimming or have sweated profusely.

 Healthy Skin: Stop smoking

It is fairly obvious that smoking will age you and damage your healthy skin. Smoking decreases the blood flow by narrowing the tiny blood vessels in your skin; the skin is then deprived of oxygen and vitamin A which is essential to your skin’s health.

Collagen and elastin the fibres that keep your skin strong and elastic can be damaged by smoking. Not to mention the wrinkles you get after such a long time of pursing your lips while inhaling. The only way to minimise further damage to your healthy skin is to quit smoking. It may not be easy, enlist help from a doctor if you can’t do it on your own, as in the long run your entire body will thank you for it.

Healthy Skin: Be kind to your skin

Having daily very hot showers or baths can strip essential oils from your skin, maybe spend less time in the bath and lower the bath temperature. Stop using such strong scented soaps, instead use mild unperfumed cleansers. When you shave, always apply shaving cream or gel and never use a blunt razor – this will lead to cuts and skin damage. Always shave in the direction the hair is growing and try not to shave when not absolutely necessary. After washing or having a bath, pat or blot skin dry instead of rubbing so that you retain some moisture on your skin.

 Healthy Skin: Eat well

While diet and is not thought to be linked, good food will definitely give you good skin. Especially if you eat plenty of fruit, veg, whole grain and lean proteins. A diet rich in vitamin C could promote younger looking skin.

Healthy Skin: Stop stressing

can take its toll on our bodies, not least of all our healthy skin and it certainly shows on our faces! It can trigger acne breakouts and other problems which is why it’s important to keep a happy and positive frame of mind to have healthy glowing skin.

De-Stress Your Life

Have you ever wondered how de- your life works? Doesn't it baffle your mind a bit? Doesn't it spark your curious mind, and make you think incessantly about it? Are you interested in learning facts, trivia and other interesting information about it? You have come to the right place because every so often we update this site with various information about de- your life. Click on the links and start reading!

de-stress Your Life

We really need to de-stress our lives as we’ve long known that middle-aged men are much more likely than women to have high blood pressure–about 36 percent of men versus 23 percent of women between the ages of 45 and 54. And since high blood pressure can lead to stroke it’s not surprising that many more men die over from these “brain attacks”.

The explanation for this difference between the sexes has been lifestyle and men being less likely to de-stress. Men are more likely to smoke, be overweight, drink alcohol, and avoid exercise–all risk factors for high blood pressure. Undoubtedly, poor health habits account for much of the difference when we find that we cannot de-stress our lives.

De-Stress: Traffic Jam Anxiety

In this day and age, the average person spends a significantly large amount of time in his car. And with the ever-increasing number of cars on the road, we spend an even larger amount of time stuck in traffic jams. However, you can follow these tips to spend less time stressing out while stranded in the middle of a highway. By getting up 15 minutes earlier in the morning every day, you can de-stress by avoiding the morning rush hour. Another tip is to stick to the right lane on the freeway. The minute or two gained by aggressive driving isn’t worth the stress.

De-Stress: Work Place Worries

Now that you have arrived at work early and in a relaxed mood, take the time to review long-term plans because stress lies in the moment-by-moment pressures. If you feel the stress piling up during your workday, breathe in and out four times very slowly to clear your mind allowing yourself a few moments to de-stress.

During lunchtime, it is important to get away from the office and give yourself a time to de-stress through exercise. Make it a goal to walk around during your break or even follow a simple and short workout routine. Exercise releases endorphins into your blood stream, which are pleasure inducing chemicals that are also discharged during sex.

De-Stress: Be Positive

Stress is also related to the past. Keep in mind that mistakes happen, and the only thing that you can change about the past is your attitude towards it. Another thing that can assist you to de- stress is to keep smiling. Even a superficial smile is a great start towards a happy day and a calmness to de-stress according to research. Having regular sex is also helpful in keeping happy.

It is also important to set some time aside to de-stress by indulging yourself. Whether it be taking a nap, or allowing yourself an occasional piece of cake, spending time on yourself can make you feel great and happy.

However, it is crucial not to eat for relief all the time. Eating is a relief for stress, and stress can be a result of over-eating. So, be very careful not to start this vicious cycle. While taking the time out for yourself to de-stress can be beneficial, doing things for others can also improve your life. Volunteering for others pushes your own troubles away, and can give you a greater perspective on life.

Finally, and most importantly, setting time aside for your friends and family can be a great way to feel great and de-stress. There is no better thing than being with loved ones and enjoying activities with them. Also, keep all the things in your life in perspective allowing yourself to remain in a mode of de-stress.

Try to follow all these tips for better mental and physical health. This is a great guide for a happier, healthier, and longer life through de-stress activities.

How do you react when your plans fall through?  Do you roll with the punches?  Or does keep you from enjoying life?  To a great extent, our personality determines how we deal with stress in our lives, but here are 5 things to help keep your stress under control:

1. Sleep more.  It’s very common in our society to exist on less than 6 hours of sleep a night.  But experts keep telling us we need at least 8 hours.  Not just to rest our bodies, but to rejuvenate our minds.  “Tired” and “cranky” seem to go hand in hand.  Don’t use your bedroom to watch the news or finish up some work from the office.  Make that room your haven, a place to relax and escape the day.  Have a hot cup of tea, take a warm bath, or read a paperback to help you unwind.

2. Have faith.  Saying a short prayer in times of stress can give you a sense of calm, especially when the situation is one you really have no control over.  Studies have shown that people who trust in a higher power have lower blood pressure.  Being able to forgive people also can affect your blood pressure.  Holding a grudge is not good for your health!
3. Turn it off.  The convenience that cell phones have added to our lives can actually be a double-edged sword.  We depend on them so much it seems we can’t live without them.  This increased accessibility means not only can our loved ones reach us at any time, but so can work.  If your employer legitimately needs to have your cell phone number, make sure you set clear limits on when you can and cannot be reached.  Your time off is yours.

4. Take a holiday.  It doesn’t have to be a fancy vacation resort.  A day at the beach, or an afternoon at the park will do.  Just anywhere you can be and not think about the bills, work, or whatever tensions you may have.  It’s important to take time for yourself, so do it!  You’ll feel better with a fresh outlook.
5. Treat yourself.  Sign up for a yoga class at your local gym or community center.  The costs are nominal, and you’ll feel more relaxed after even just one session.  A monthly massage or a spa treatment is also a great way to recharge.  You’ll walk out feeling like a million dollar bowl of jelly.

Stress is unavoidable.  But what we do about it is up to us.  Experiment with these suggestions and see what works for you!

Treating Insomnia With SSRI’s – Insomnia Cure Or Hoax?

Overview of Insomnia SSRI Treatment

Insomnia treatment is a relatively new approach to solving one of the oldest medical problems identified by man. The question is, can SSRIs play a role in solving that problem?

The answer appears to be somewhat equivocal. However long it may have been around, insomnia is a complex issue with a number of causes and effects. SSRIs are just as complex.

Definition of Insomnia

A short definition of insomnia is the inability to sleep. But such a definition does not help with treatment. For that, causes and symptoms must be identified. Physicians will need to ask:

-Is the problem physical, such as pain or illness?
-Is it the surroundings – noise, discomfort, a change in your life’s patterns?
-Or is the problem psychological?

If it is psychological, the practitioner will need to determine if the cause is temporary , such as the loss of a loved one or job problems? Is it a more permanent mental illness such as Disorder or depression? Alternatively, it might be caused by medicines used to treat either physical or mental illnesses.

Whatever the case, the resolution for insomnia will likely include treatments other than medicine. However, when non-medicinal management does not work, medicine may be called in.

The most common medications are those sold over the counter. These are antihistamines, which cause drowsiness and help you fall asleep. They should not be used for more than a few days, as continued use makes them ineffective.

When over the counter medications don’t work, a doctor may prescribe something stronger. Again, normally the prescription will be temporary. Lifestyle changes and the resolution of the causes of insomnia are typically the preferred long-term care.

Benefits of Insomnia SSRI Treatments

SSRIs are commonly used to treat depression, and less commonly for a few other things. The likelihood that SSRIs would help you sleep better is small. Indeed, SSRIs are a common cause of insomnia, themselves. So when and why would they be prescribed, if ever? There is one case in which they might be of use.

Generally, the best way to cure insomnia is to cure the underlying cause. One cause of insomnia is depression. Not “the blues,” but true clinical depression. This next is a bit complex, but depression is not really a common cause of insomnia. However, depressed persons frequently battle insomnia.

In other words, other things cause insomnia a lot more often than depression. So insomnia is most likely not a sign you have depression. But, if it turns out you do have depression, and the depression can be successfully treated by SSRIs, then that may cure your insomnia, as well.

Summary of Insomnia SSRI Treatment

While there may be a relatively small number of cases of insomnia that are treatable with SSRIs, it is probably too much to call the idea a hoax. On the other hand, SSRIs are not, directly, a treatment for insomnia. However, there are cases where insomnia SSRI treatments are beneficial in working towards a cure. Even when they are used, other treatments should be used in conjunction with your doctor and other medications her or she prescribes.

Guided Meditation To Make You Whole

In life, pain is inevitable, the suffering is ...

Guided meditation is a form of relief that is conducive to relaxing the whole body, in part by finding a way of peaceful and calming relaxation from within the body. Guided meditation may utilize soothing photographs or scenarios to enhance the ability of the mind to relax and guide the body to a point of relaxation so that the person in meditation can find a true sense of inner peace. Quite often, guided meditation will be accompanied by soft music or sounds of nature.

One of the keys to successfully having a session of Guided meditation is finding an area where the one meditating will be free of distractions. Any outside interference will prevent proper concentration and make the attempts at guided meditation futile and perhaps even frustrating, further aggravating the problem seeking to be solved by the very use of guided meditation.

After finding a suitable location for guided meditation, other factors need to be taken into consideration. Some practitioners of guided meditation feel that visual stimuli can be used to help achieve a sense of inner peace and help to achieve true relaxation. Still other practitioners of guided meditation feel that any outside visual simulation will detract from the mind’s ability to properly focus on the body and the results of the guided meditation will be hindered or even reversed.

The same can be said for audio stimulation during sessions of guided meditation. While some individuals believe that soothing sound effects or even quiet music is conducive to the guided meditation, still others believe that it is only a hindrance and will do nothing more than create a harmful atmosphere for the practitioner of such guided meditation.

The basic concept of guided meditation is to relax. This is done by taking oneself on a guided tour of sorts through their own body. In the practice of guided meditation, it is normal to find a focus point in the body and begin there, someplace that is easy to relax. While staying focused on the body and in particular the muscles, the practitioner of guided meditation attempts to relax the muscles of the body. Allowing the body to completely relax allows the practitioner of guided meditation to next completely relax the mind.

When the mind and body are completely relaxed, the person can begin to concentrate on focusing his thoughts and ideas during the guided meditation. When using guided meditation, thoughts are usually thought to be transcendent and more in focus allowing the practitioner to perform better in all aspects of life. Whether or not guided meditation is right for a person is not only dependent on spiritual beliefs. Anyone contemplating the benefits of guided meditation must be seeking to improve themselves as a whole as well.
