During my divorce, I was on an antidepressant and something to help me sleep. The meds. made me very jittery and nervous but I needed them to get me through. I am off of them all now and feel better. You should talk to your doctor about your concerns.

You need to have your meds.changed. The dizziness and forgetfulness are a sign of a bad reaction to your meds., that can become worse and cause serious health issues.

Both medications can cause dizziness and forgetfulness. I have taken both, still take the clonazepam as needed, and I’ve been taking it for years, and it still makes me sleepy. But I’d take sleepy over a full blown panic attack any day. You didn’t say how long you’ve been on them, and I know from experience, it usually takes about 4-6 weeks to get past most of the side effects. If you are having real trouble, discuss it with your doctor, and perhaps he or she can prescribe something else that doesn’t have as many side effects. Every anti-depressant I’ve ever been on has a few side effects, so just pick your battles really, and at least give the medicine some time to do you good. Take care.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI – Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There’s this strange herb called “St John’s Wort” – it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John’s Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced… you have that “learned behavior” in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction… There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to….

Both medications can cause dizziness and forgetfulness. I’m on both of them and I look at it this way. Would I be tired or depressed? I’ll take tired and dizzy over anxiety and depression

    Hi
I did a little research and discovered this great resource (ebook) that addresses this issue in detail.
You can thank me after you’ve read it.

Clonazepam is supposed to make you calm down for your panic attacks. Read the insert that came with the drugs; dizziness and forgetfulness are on that insert for side effects. As you continue to take the drug, your body will get used to it. I take Xanax to help me with anxiety and inner ear problems, it calms both down but used to knock me out cold when I first started taking it. Good luck!
