A lot of busy people who seem unable to fathom the idea of relaxing and taking time from work and their worries tend to actually start having nervous breakdowns, anxiety depression and all sorts of mental illnesses that can cause a person’s sanity to go haywire.  If you’re one of those unfortunate people who are unable to distress and are constantly worried and fussing over things, there are actually available cures and various treatments for treating depression.

Anxiety depression is actually characterized by all sorts of irregularities and erratic behavior from the person who is suffering from it, this is usuallu due to certain stress triggers that may tend to easily cause a person undue jitters and stress.

Anxiety depression: Undue stress?

Also, a lot of people who tend to get easily nervous over stressful activities are actually prone to having anxiety depression, its just a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing difficult and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to overcome at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what’ll actually save your mental health from going in a totally downward spiral.

Anxiety depression: Various types

When it comes to effectively curing one’s self from a mental illness, one must keep in mind that you have to be actually honest with yourself and assess what kind of depression or mental illness you actually have, go to reputable psychiatrist to get yourself diagnosed correctly as well as be able to get the right depression treatment for yourself. Here are the various types of depression:

Manic or Bipolar depression – characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one’s mood wherein one minute he or she is in an elevated state of euphoria while the
next minute (day or week) he or she is feeling to be in a personal hell.

Postpartum depression – characterized by a prolonged sadness and a feeling of emptiness by a new mother wherein physical stress during child birth, an uncertain sense of responsibility towards the new born baby can be just some of the possible factors why some new mother go through this.

Dysthimia – characterized by a slight similarity with depression, although this time, it’s been proven to be a lot less severe, but of course with any case, should be treated immediately.

Cyclothemia – characterized by a slight similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness may occasionally suffer from severe changes in one’s moods.

Seasonal Affective Disorder – characterized by falling in a rut only during specific seasons (i.e. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall) studies however, prove that more people
actually fall in to a rut more during the Winter and Fall seasons and lastly, Mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in just a short time.

But the type of depression that has actually been proven to be quite common among people is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized by the state of being overly anxious about things. Anxiety, a supposedly normal behavior that’ll actually help a person adjust more to a certain stressful activity like first date jitters or a grueling exam the following day. Anxiety actually helps you get psyched up towards facing certain “difficult situations”; anxiety therefore is actually a good thing. anxiety depression however, is simply the opposite, not to be easily dismissed as a “case of the nerves”; this depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological makeup of an individual, or in other words, a hereditary illness.

Also, there are actually various types of anxiety depression, each having its own unique characteristics. Take for example Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD, this kind of depression is a lot more complicated than the average anxiety depression, in spite of possibly being a day-to-day habit for those who suffer this kind of anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual quite more paranoid than usual, anxiety depression attacks are more frequent, even absurd at times. They can even be anxious even when there’s no apparent reason that calls for them to behave in such a way.

People suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually shows a lot of symptoms, from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, getting tired easily, cannot concentrate on what they’re doing and even suffering from depression.  This kind of anxiety depression is still curable; just a little work will actually do the trick.

Consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist who’ll help give the individual the therapy that he or she needs to help him or her loosen up, also prescribed medicines are sort of a must to help these individuals battle anxiety attacks, help them calm down and relax.

Weight Gain 4000

Image via Wikipedia

Winter weight gain is a common complaint of many people. It seems that every winter we add a few pounds, and come summer we don’t lose them all again either. A few of them always stick around, making us a little heavier every year. They seem to be very hard to lose extra pounds! Why do we store more fat as winter approaches and what can we do?

There are many contributing factors. First, it seems likely that we have a genetic disposition to store more fat as winter approaches. Many animals do this and it was probably vital to survival for our ancestors. Extra layers of fat on the body protect us against the cold and then can be used as fuel in the late winter and early spring when food stocks would historically be very low. We probably have a tendency to eat more in the fall, when food is plentiful after harvest time, to help this process along. We may also unconsciously choose foods that are higher in fat content at this time.

Hormone levels can also influence our weight gain. The interaction of hormones and other chemicals in the brain can bring about variations in appetite and cravings. Some neurotransmitters can also influence the way we eat. People who are overweight often have low levels of these neurotransmitters and the results can include excessive appetite, and sleep disorders. At the same time, the lack of daylight caused by the shortening days during late fall and winter can bring on seasonally affected disorder or winter depression. One of the quickest ways to give a boost to the energy levels and emotions is to eat high carbohydrate foods including sugar treats, chips and cereals that give us a fast blood sugar ‘fix’. So people who feel low in the winter will tend to overeat or eat the wrong foods, leading to weight gain, more depression and a vicious cycle that is hard to break.

So altogether there are many reasons why we eat more high carbohydrate foods such as cookies, pies and chocolate in the winter, and of course most of these foods also contain high levels of fats. The best way to handle this is generally to substitute other foods that are also high in carbohydrate so that we get what our body craves, but which have low fat content and plenty of fiber. This means potatoes, wholegrain bread without butter, wholegrain rice, cereals, and fresh whole fruit.

It is also important to take more . Often our levels drop in the winter and we have a tendency to want to stay home and rest. This is natural when it is cold outside. But we are not cavemen! We have heating in our homes and can be sure that there will still be plenty of food in the stores come February. We do not need to stow fat the way that they did. Sign up with a gym or get a stationary bicycle for the den. Transform those carbs into energy now instead of keeping it on the waistline until spring. Winter weight gain is easily avoidable this way.

Depression and Obesity: How Detox Can Help

By Lisa Gylsen

There’s nothing as depressing as or obese. Some say that depression causes obesity, yet others claim that it’s obesity that prompts a . Even researchers have been puzzled over this chicken-and-egg dilemma over the years. But there’s no question about it – obesity and depression are linked in both adolescents and adults, and no one wants to be stuck in either of these unfortunate situations.

There is no defined one-way link that states which causes which. Depression can cause a person to overeat and gain weight while being obese can cause an individual to get into a depressive state. The two can be co-dependent and feed off each other.

Depression causes obesity: Individuals with tend to undergo drastic weight-related changes. People experiencing depression have a tendency to make poor food choices. Some tend to lose their appetite and a lot of sleep, while most are likely to overeat in an attempt to ward off the depression. Research has also observed that depression can cause decreased levels of the hormone seratonin. Seratonin acts as the brain’s oil and when we find ourselves in stressful or depressive states, we use more seratonin than is normally replaced. This results to the development of an appetite disorder . We either lose our appetite completely or yearn for sweets and carbohydrates as the brain tries to make more seratonin. Eating becomes a repressed effort to self-medicate and restore seratonin levels to normal.

Obesity causes depression: Overweight or obese people are 25 percent more likely to experience mood disorders such as overwhelming sadness and depression compared to those who are not. A low self-esteem and a tendency to isolate themselves contribute much to the cause of depression among overweight individuals who find themselves ostracized, discriminated against and stereotyped. The extra weight they carry can also result in lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, which are known to be linked with conditions of depression.

Either way, depression and obesity are quite difficult states. Both conditions steal the life out of an individual and restricts him or her from fully enjoying the beauty of the world around him. There is help available and one road to take is treating such conditions the natural way. Nature’s supplements have an amazing capacity to heal the body and bring it back to optimum condition so that negative elements cease to take their toll.

Toxins and harmful elements invade our body through the food that we eat and the occasional agitation and turbulence of the daily grind. As a result, metabolism slows down and gives us that “I don’t want to get out of bed” feeling. Metabolic disturbance or disorder is one major cause of weight gain and hormonal imbalance that can cause depression. We need to provide the body with protection so it is able to deal with these conditions effectively.

One effective way to address this is to cleanse the body of all harmful toxins and free radicals so metabolism is restored and the body is able to absorb nutrients properly. The Clean 9 Nutritional Cleansing Program is designed to do just this. It is an thorough cleansing regimen specifically formulated to purge harmful chemicals and toxic build-ups in just 9 days.
